We’re pleased to introduce Essamba Home Foundation, a new foundation established by the artist-photographer Angèle Etoundi Essamba. Our foundation is intended to improve the living conditions of the street children of Yaoundé, Cameroon, through creative activities that help them escape their isolation and dismal living conditions.

Witnessing the growing number of children in the streets of Yaoundé (approximately one thousand), we decided to do something and set up a WELCOME ART CENTRE to give them a purpose in life through art and creativity. We’re convinced that art can serve as that therapeutic tool. If managed by people who care and understand, creativity works to change the lives of underprivileged children to build self-respect and provide skills to realise better living conditions.

In order to develop our project and to assure its sustainability, financial assistance is required to construct the centre and purchase equipment.
