CONTRASTS
Fascinated by its pictorial and dramatic strength, I started my photographic practice in black and white and I have built a deeper and more intimate relationship with that technique over the years.
The Contrasts serie translates with strength and depth my encounter with the Western culture.
The emphasis lays on the harmony that emanates from differences, duality, alterity and the double identity.
I approach the female body in a symbolic and aesthetic dimension, entire or fragmented, still or in motion. It’s a body that denounces, and rebels.
speaks of wounds, struggles, fragility and strength, of communion and communication, of openess to the world. The encountering with the other allows oneself to grow.
